Chrysler de Mexico reported a substantial increase in vehicle sales during April 2013. In its monthly report, the company stated that it sold 7,558 units during such month, up 15% over the same period of April 2012. Increases were reflected in all of its divisions. Chrysler de Mexico’s President, Bruno Cattori, emphasized these results stating: “We continue our positive trend in sales, reporting double digit increases.” Chrysler continues to offer vehicles with the best fuel economy and technology, “I am sure that this trend will continue thanks to our world class products.” He also stated that the Jeep was one of the highest selling vehicles in April and that within such class, the Jeep Grand Cherokee registered its best month of April in history, while the Jeep Wrangler achieved its best April sales in ten years, and the new Jeep Compass reported its best April sales since 2006. The company also referred to the fact that the Chrysler brand continues to perform well in sales, with an increase of 4.0% during April; meanwhile sales of the Chrysler Town & Country grew by 25%. The monthly report shows that the Jeep brand grew its sales by 27%, with the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Compass showing increases of 37% and 47% respectively. The well-known Italian brands Fiat and Alfa Romeo that are now part of the Chrysler portfolio, showed a 62% increase in sales, with the Fiat 500 continuing its strong performance with 258 units sold, representing a 14% increase over the same period of April 2012.
