Cacheaux, Cavazos & Newton is pleased to announce that José María Lujambio-Irazábal is joining our firm in June 2014. Mr. Lujambio-Irazábal served as General Counsel of the Mexican Federal Energy Regulatory Commission from 2009 through 2012. Previously, he worked in the office of the Legal Advisor to the President of the Republic of Mexico from 2005 until 2009. Mr. Lujambio-Irazábal received his law degree from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) in 2002, and obtained a Master’s degree in Fundamental Rights from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 2003. He is currently finishing a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law, with a concentration in energy law.
