The Return of Datsun

The Return of Datsun

Nissan has again begun to produce the Datsun, which is the model that allowed the Japanese company to gain the acceptance in the western world that it now enjoys. In Mexico, the Datsun was always very popular and left a good impression as a reliable, economical, solid and safe vehicle. The brand later became the symbolic brand of Nissan. Sadly, the new Datsun model will only be sold in certain emerging markets, which do not include Mexico; therefore, such new Datsun models will not be seen circulating on Mexican roads as they have in the past 50 years. These past models have become classics and participants in antique automobile gatherings. The company announced that the Datsun will be sold in India, Russia and Indonesia. The five-door Datsun hatchback will be sold in India for around $6,670, so that the appetite for offering such in Mexico would likely have had great market acceptance, given its price and prestige, recalling the nostalgia of those who have known and driven these cars for decades. The Datsun will be manufactured in the United States.
